Welcome to November
What is this month shaping up to be like? Make it the best by getting an early start on your holiday planning. Are you going to spend Thanksgiving with family or friends? Are you going to shop early for Christmas? Here are some important dates to remember for this month.· November 3 – Election Day November 11 – Veterans Day November 26 – Thanksgiving November 27 – Black Friday November 30 – Cyber Monday I have some Tips for a smooth November: Be the Fugleman of the family these last 2 months of the year; plan November with you and your loved ones in mind first. Do not feel guilty if your aunt or uncle do not come over because you or they are concerned about COVID-19. Everyone has their own opinion of the virus, so try to respect each other’s points of view. To show your love and appreciation, you can always send care packages, groceries, a singing telegram, or suggest a good movie and watch it together through a video call. One suggestion for you; if you can’t be with a loved one at any point this season buy them a plush stuffed animal so they can hug it and keep by their side as a symbol of your love. Thankful Preparations: If you are hosting Thanksgiving at your home, start prepping your home now. Make arrangements to have your home cleaned in the first 2 weeks. Followed by putting out all the supplies and equipment you will use for your Thanksgiving feast. This is a super time to get out the China. Ask for Help: Decide what the family can contribute for the dinner and assign the menu. If this is the month you begin Christmas shopping, prepare your “Christmas Station” now! Find an area of your home where you have a flat surface (open up a table if you need to), pull out wrapping paper, gift bags, tape, scissors, cards, address book/contact list. This will help with your organization and efficiency when wrapping presents and preparing your Christmas cards. If you follow these tips, by the week of Thanksgiving you can set the table and be ready for your special holiday. You can then spend the day after by starting your Christmas shopping and planning for the rest of the holiday season. |
